Professional Dog walking services using positive reinforcement methods for managing dogs on walk; available in most of the Bronx and upper Manhattan. (Please inquire about other areas - I may be able to accommodate in certain situations.)

Get peace of mind during your workday by enrolling your dog for daily walks. In addition to giving your dog the opportunity to get out of the house for exercise, walks provide both mental and physical stimulation. Short walks along with playtime is an option also. In inclement weather, playtime indoors with your pet is beneficial. Brain toys and games keep dogs’ brains developing and sharp. I observe the dogs’ behavior and health, and give you daily updates. Things you may not notice a steady dog-walker can.

Private walks

  • 1 hour long walk (minimum is half an hour) in your neighborhood and/or local park.

  • Walking routes are varied, exposing your dog to new sights & smells, which keeps them happy.

  • Positive reinforcement methods using special food and/or treats, praise and petting to reinforce and teach basic obedience skills such as polite leash walking, simple commands such as sit, stay, leave it & come.

  • Employs positive, science-based training methods to correct behaviors such as reactivity to other dogs, resource guarding (protectiveness over things such as food, toys), and building confidence in fearful dogs.

  • Off-leash play in your yard and/or nearby park (where permitted) also available with owner permission.

1 hour walks $38; 45 minutes is $33; half hour $28*. $12 for an additional dog.

semi-private walks

  • 1 hour long walk in your neighborhood and/or local park.

  • A maximum group size of 3 dogs ensures a personalized experience for your dog.

  • Dogs are selectively matched by size, energy level and temperament to maintain harmony in the pack and a fun, safe outing every time.

  • Positive reinforcement training to reinforce & teach basic obedience skills such as polite leash walking, simple commands such as sit, stay, leave it & come.

pet sitting

Pet sitting services are available in the Bronx and Manhattan. Please inquire about other areas.

Forget the stress of leaving your pet in cramped quarters in a cage at the vet clinic or in a crowded kennel. In-home pet sitting allows your pet to maintain her normal routine while you’re gone, alleviating stress for both of you. Your pet will receive the individual attention she deserves.

$90 for overnight visit for one-three cats; $5 surcharge for additional cats over three

$100 for one dog. $30 for an additional dog.

On Federal holidays there is a $10 additional charge.

 

daily visits FOR CATS AND OTHER SMALL ANIMALS

Cats need companionship and mental stimulation just like dogs. Daily visits will give your cat the companionship she needs while you’re away. Choose between one or two visits per day.

  • 1 hour long visits to your home.

  • Feeding, keeping water fresh & full, and bowls sparkling clean.

  • Brushing, playtime & catnip! Some cats don’t like to be brushed or to play, they just enjoy companionship - no problem. You can have a relaxed vacation because I make sure all cats are healthy and happy; if any are hiding, I find them and make sure they are okay.

  • Thorough litter box cleaning

  • Daily updates via text, email or phone

  • Bring in mail, newspapers, packages; put garbage out for collection, water plants, etc.

  • Turn lights on/off, open & close window shades to give your home a lived-in appearance.

Visits are $37 for one hour - this price is for up to three cats; additional cats over three is $5 each. If you are away for a long trip, a few longer visits really is good for cats, especially for cats who don’t have another cat companion, to prevent the cat having feelings of insecurity and abandonment. Pets have mental capacity of a 3 year old child, and I wouldn’t want them to be stressed.

HOW MY SERVICE WORKS

The first step is a free Meet & Greet appointment in the client's home to make sure it's a good match, after the initial phone call. I get to know about your pet in order to have safe and enjoyable walks and/or visits. You fill out a service agreement with important information, as well. The Meet & Greet is normally the time to discuss payment (required in advance of services) and get keys. I take the dog for a short walk at this time. You can make other safe arrangement for the keys if desired.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

*** I also offer other services for your pets, including transporting your pet to the groomer or veterinarian appointment, or to a play date; “poop scooping” (to clean up dog poop from your yard), and grooming such as de-matting and baths (no haircuts).

Expressing paralyzed dogs’ bladder and bowel management.

Compassionate care for fish, turtles, birds, and other small animals as well.

Deep litter box cleaning: emptying the litter box and washing/scrubbing it out with non-toxic products, cleaning underneath the box - the charge is $15.

extras

  • Nail clipping, brushing, ear cleaning and administering topical and oral medications are also available. Bathing is available for an additional charge of $18. I have experience giving subcutaneous fluids, for a reasonable charge.
